Sandwich panels are a modern building material designed for the construction of walls and roofs of industrial, warehouse, commercial, agricultural, and livestock facilities. They consist of an insulating core surrounded by metal facings, creating a solid and functional sandwich panel.
Sandwich panels are characterized by high thermal and acoustic insulation parameters, as well as durability and aesthetic execution. Thanks to easy and quick installation, they represent an economical solution for investments that require efficient execution and high utility standards.
Types of Insulating Cores
The insulating layer of the panels can be made from various materials tailored to the investment requirements:
01. PIR / PIR+
Core made of rigid polyisocyanurate foam with very good thermal insulation properties (λ = 0.022 W/mK) and low water absorption. It ensures high energy efficiency, moisture resistance, and good acoustic parameters. These panels are non-combustible with a fire reaction class of Bs2d0 or E15, depending on thickness and mounting system.
02. MWF (Mineral Wool)
Core made of mineral wool classified as a non-combustible material (A2-s1, d0). It provides very good acoustic insulation (Rw ~32 dB) and fire resistance of up to EI60. It is characterized by low thermal conductivity λ = 0.040 W/mK and high fire resistance.
03. EPS
Core made of expanded polystyrene. An economical solution with good thermal insulation (λ = 0.040 W/mK) and basic acoustic properties. Fire reaction class – NRO (non-combustible).
Construction and Properties
The panels are produced by combining the insulating core with galvanized and coated steel facings. The layered construction provides:
- Effective protection against atmospheric factors
- Waterproofing due to precise locks and joints
- Fire resistance (depending on the type of core)
- Aesthetic finish in a wide range of colors and profiling
